Job/Position Summary:


Under the supervision of the Acquisition Services Lead this position is responsible for the textbook program, supporting faculty in learning resources, course material design and support, and further development of open education initiatives. This position also coordinates the acquisition and management of library resources including magazines and newspapers. He/she works collaboratively with library staff and serves as liaison with vendors and service providers, reference, public access and user service areas of the library.


Major Responsibilities :


  • Works with Acquisition Lead to manage library textbook program and other learning resources.
  • Works with faculty, researchers and other departments to identify their needs and develop innovative educational resources and tools including course materials, textbooks etc.
  • Supports faculty in the creation, dissemination, identification, adoption, and assessment of open and create educational resources.
  • Works directly with faculty and graduate students to support teaching excellence by providing a wide range of educational technology services and facilities.
  • Maintains library learning lab with updated software and hardware.
  • Provides library workshops and information literacy classes.
  • Coordinates acquisition and management of library resources including magazines and newspapers, procurement files, filing system, reports and inventory in order.
  • Helps library customers at infodesk as assigned including evening shifts.
  • Assists in access services, shelving, weeding, book sweeping, stock verification, maintenance of the books and archives as assigned.
  • Conducts library tours and performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Contributes to a dynamic, collegial library team supportive of the university’s goals.

  • Experience in working with learning technology and open education resources or similar projects.



Prior experience working in libraries, education, or public services organizations.




  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Library science, Instructional Design and Education Technology preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s Degree is desirable.
  2. A minimum of three years’ experience on open education resources (OER) or learning and teaching support.
  3. Experience working with computers and MS Office suite.
  4. Experience working in a multi-cultural and  multi-ethnic environment.
