Key Responsibilities:

 

The position’s primary goal will be to ensure that a robust management structure and process are in place to facilitate effective management of risk throughout the University. This involves leading, maintaining and maturing all aspects of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Program and working with all stakeholders to ensure that the ERM Program is implemented effectively across the University.

 

They will:

  • Lead the implementation of the University’s ERM Program
  • Provide overall governance and direction setting of the Program on an ongoing basis
  • Align the Program with international standards and best practices
  • Drive compliance with evolving regulatory requirements and industry standards ERM as required
  • Enhance the Program in line with the set direction and evolving University requirements
  • Drive the change and embed ERM into the University Culture
  • Design and deliver training and awareness programs
  • Lead the risk management process across the University to facilitate identification, assessment, treatment, monitoring and communication of key risks on a continuous basis
  • Provide leadership and advice to assist other departments with risk management process
  • Manage and coordinate the efforts of risk owners in relation to risk management process
  • Establish and strengthen relationships and integrate with key partners across the University for maturing the Program
  • Develop executive reports and presentations as necessary
  • Evaluate and enhance ERM governance documents periodically to align with evolving requirements
  • Evaluate and enhance all ERM documentation, formats and templates as necessary
  • Track the implementation of the ERM Program, develop and record status and prepare management reports as necessary
  • Manage an ERM specialist
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Manager

  • Excellent Project/Program Management skills - demonstrable track record successfully managing projects at the highest technical and tactical levels, coordinating multi-discipline projects
  • Excellent analytical skills and understanding of processes, risks and controls

  • Good communicator
  • Excellent command of English (verbal/written)
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with ability to effectively communicate and influence decision-making with senior management

Key Requirements:

 

  • Minimum 8+ years’ of relevant experience in leading Enterprise Risk Management initiatives
  • Proven experience in ERM topics driving the need for strategically influencing senior business leaders, facilitating decision making and managing cross-functional teams in multi-cultural environment
  • Experience within a tertiary institution or other large organization
  • Experience within research oriented higher education institutions is preferred

 

Desired Qualifications:  

 

  • Related industry certification with a recognized institution

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree. MBA or Master’s degree equivalent preferred.
