 Operations and Communications

  • Solve problems related to Research operations by coordinating with Divisions, Research Centers, faculty members, Core Labs, Lab Equipment Maintenance, Campus Support, Engineering and Project Management (E&PM), Procurement, Finance, Human Resources, IT, HSE, etc.
  • Constantly engage with stakeholders to gather information and preempt issues.
  • Tackle sensitive and political situations with professionalism and creativity Monitor all equipment/lab modification projects executed by E&PM.

 

Monitoring and Process Improvement

  • Assessing lab space utilization as well as office space occupancy. 
  • Track the performance of functions that support Research and collaborate on process improvements.
  • Identify challenges that cut across business units and lead stakeholders in resolving them.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures.

 

Knowledge and Experience

  • Considerable and progressively responsible experience in project management.
  • Strong relationship and team building skills; capabilities in dealing with difficult situations and individuals, particularly in an academic environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in the areas of KAUST research.
  • Experience is in interpreting blue prints related to laboratory floor plans and corresponding utilities.
  • Considerable knowledge of University policies and regulations.
  • Previous experience in setting up labs and addressing research needs.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task, with strong attention to detail.
  • Self-directed and motivated, with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication at all levels.
  • Fluent in English.

 

Education and Certifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science/Engineering or related field, Master’s Degree/PhD preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar operational role, preferably at a research institution.
